When did Sun FeiFei sign with MUSE agency in NYC? She's not listed on the agency's website yet.

Ming Xi Making A Spash at London Fashion Week, Fall 2010

I was alerted to another new Asian model who is making a huge splash at London Fashion Week this season and she is Ming Xi, the 1st runner-up of 2009 Elite Look competition. It would be interesting to see how she does in Milan and Paris in the upcoming weeks.

It is also interesting that London Fashion Week is the place where these new Asian girls are creating a name for themselves. First off, London Fashion Week has always been the distant stepsister of Paris, Milan and New York, and the magazines there have rarely used Asian models. But suddenly, London is beginning to look like a major players.

New face: Ming Xi at Givenchy Haute Couture, Fall/Winter 2010

Elite Model Look finalist from 2009, Ming Xi -- her real name is Xi Mengyao, formerly known as Barbie at the competition -- made her international debut on the runway of Paris recently, and it was quite an impressive one too. She walked for the Givenchy Couture, Fall/Winter 2010 show this week, which cause quite a stir among the fashion watchers.

Good job, Ming Xi a.k.a. Barbie a.k.a. Mengyao. We will be looking for you at the New York, Paris and Milan fashion shows next month.

Introducing Xi Mengyao Ming Xi from China from the Elite Model's Look World Competition, 2009

Ming Xi Xi Mengyao (a.k.a. Barbie -- is there a WORST western name for a Chinese girl?) from China was one of the finalists at the recent Elite Model's Look World competition. She didn't win -- Julia Saner from Switzerland did -- but her show card appeared on Models.com, which is a good thing. It will be interesting to see if she makes it in the international scene.

Elite Model's Look World competition is definitely NOT in the same realm as Ford Model's Supermodel of the World in terms of generating attention and creating top models. However, I think Stefanie Seymour and Linda Evangelista started out as Elite Model's Look finalists in the early 1980s.
